Under the coordination of World of VR, the Computer Graphics Group and the Cologne Game Lab at TH K\u00f6ln, as well as Paderborn University, are working closely together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World of VR (Project Management)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


World of VR is responsible for the overall coordination of the project and develops the core technical concepts as well as the data pipeline. The team is particularly in charge of developing and integrating scanning technologies for clothing and avatars and transferring them into XR applications. In addition, World of VR ensures coordination between the partners and brings together all technical components into a functional overall system. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Computer Graphics Group (TH K\u00f6ln)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Computer Graphics Group at TH K\u00f6ln contributes its expertise in real-time garment simulation. It develops physically based and AI-supported methods for the realistic representation of material behavior, movement, and interaction with avatars. A particular focus lies on the efficient real-time simulation of complex, multilayered clothing. This work forms the basis for the visual and physical credibility of the applications. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cologne Game Lab (TH K\u00f6ln)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Cologne Game Lab at TH K\u00f6ln is responsible for integration into production pipelines from games and VFX. It develops workflows for animation, fitting, and engine integration, as well as the transfer of results into real-time environments. In addition, the CGL contributes its expertise in 3D tools, game engines, and user experience, ensuring that the developed technologies can be applied in a practical and application-oriented manner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Paderborn University is responsible for the cultural and material research on historical clothing. This includes object analyses, pattern reconstructions, and the investigation of materials and historical wearing practices. These findings form the foundation for the technical implementation and ensure historical accuracy. At the same time, the university supports the validation of the results in a museum context.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

LVR-Industriemuseum
Textilfabrik Cromford (Ratingen)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LVR Industrial Museum is a network of several sites that convey the history of industrialization in the Rhineland at authentic locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Textile Factory Cromford in Ratingen is one of these sites and is considered the first mechanical cotton spinning mill on the European continent. It demonstrates the processing of cotton into finished yarn using historical machinery and provides insights into the living and working conditions of early industrialization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the HistoVeaR project, the museum serves as the central case study: it provides historical garments and professional expertise and supports their digital reconstruction. At the same time, we plan to present the developed VR applications together with the original objects in an on-site exhibition, thereby testing new forms of museum mediation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
